Iran Elections: 2009

TV documentary | 52 min | D 2010

synopsis

June 2009: Many Iranians anxiously await the change of government. Political polls have already predicted the challenger Hossein Mussavi will win the elections against Ahmadinejad. But their hopes are destroyed by an alleged election victory of the incumbent. Everyone knows the images of Neda, Sohrab and many others who lost their lives during their peaceful protests, which broke out all over the country after the elections. Up until today peaceful demonstrators are still being arrested, tortured, raped and executed by the Iranian government. The organization “Iran: Elections 2009” wants to contribute to an open discussion about these systematic violations of human rights.
